It was yet another cloudy day in Dharwad when we began our orientation programme-08 in Vidyaniketan. Though cloudy, there was no sign of rain. But we did experience the showers in the form of smiles and peels
of laughter with the help pf Fr Frankie Serrao, who helped us to guide ourselves in our spiritual, academic, inter-personal and affective life. We also had inputs on personality development and community building. Many group discussions enabled us to know one another very intimately. In the evening we had a meaningful Eucharist in which the first years were solemnly and officially inducted into our community. Fr Frankie, being the main celebrant, inspired us with his homily and called us to lead a jo
yful and an authentic Jesuit life. The ‘badakhana’ was followed by the community recreation, in which all of us participated enthusiastically. Achilles (Sch. Pradeep Crasta) was the centre of attraction in the skit as well as in dancing.
Second day of the orientation was devoted to the topics
of personal integration, the Society’s expectations and an action plan for the year, the resource person being our own Fr Walter Andrade. After the tea break Fr Ivan Mendonca, the Superior of Vidyaniketan, explained our way of proceeding in Vidyaniketan, especially to the new comers. We ended our programme sweetly by eating sweets.
